Todd Hebert: 2005 Aldrich Emerging Artist Award Recipient
October 16, 2005—March 12, 2006Todd Hebert was selected as the recipient of The Aldrich's Emerging Artist Award for 2005 by the curatorial staff of the Museum. Hebert's work was on view in a solo exhibition at the Museum from October 16, 2005, through March 12, 2006.
The Emerging Artist Award is given to an artist whose work exhibits bold innovation, exciting originality, clear direction, and serious dedication. This award is administered and the recipient selected by the curatorial staff of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, which includes curatorial director Jessica Hough, director of exhibitions Richard Klein, and director Harry Philbrick. Recipients of the award, which has been presented by the Museum since 1997, receive a cash prize of $5,000 and a solo exhibition at The Aldrich. Previous recipients have included Roxy Paine, 1997; Paul Henry Ramirez, 1998; Bonnie Collura, 1999; John F. Simon, Jr., 2000; Claire Corey, 2001; Yuken Teruya, 2002; Elizabeth Demaray, 2003; and David Opdyke, 2004.
Born in 1972 in Valley City, North Dakota, Todd Hebert received a BFA from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in 1996 and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1998. He is currently represented by Mark Moore Gallery in Los Angeles, and Bellwether in New York. The artist lives and works in Los Angeles.
